Bobs bit...

BobAs you already know the BCVYO is celebrating being ten years old and a party will be combined with the formal AGM on Wednesday the 19 th of May 2004 at the Civic Suite in the Broadway, Bexleyheath at 7.45pm . The new Mayor has been invited along with the Chief Executive of the Council, Mr Nick Johnson and members of the Council. Our guest speaker is the Chief Executive of Kent youth, Mr Graham Clewes, who will talk about the 'Far Ranging Changes in Youth Work', or something similar! The Chairman of the BCVYO Ltd, Mr Fred Vidler, and the committee, have asked that you all try to come and meet fellow members and leaders over some light refreshments.

As the front cover suggests there is another taster sailing day being held at Thamesmead on the 17 th of May, please try and bring your groups along for a fun packed day. Also the climbing wall at Thamesmead is now well open and taking bookings. There are more details further on inside the newsletter. This summer also sees the International Scout and Guide Camp known as Campdowne2004 at the recently recognised 'Centre of Excellence' at Downe. If you are a Scout or Guide group and are thinking of coming then please book straight away as places are becoming scarce due to it's popularity. 2000 young people can't be wrong.

Once again we have improved the newsletter, but it can only be as good as the content no matter if it's glossy or in colour. Please send in articles of news, or items of interest that we can share with the many other leaders and friends interested in the voluntary sector. The website is being 'hit' many times now and has had a worldwide audience for some time. Visit to see what's on offer and help with funding. There is also a copy of the registration form and the grant application form, which so many of you seem to lose or throw away, accidentally of course!

Please make every effort to re-register as soon as you get the form so that the data kept in the office will be as up to date as possible. Also PLEASE apply for your grant as soon as possible. We ask for your latest accounts not the end of year 2004 or whatever. So many of you wait until later to claim, please don't as the money is far better in your account that elsewhere.

t is the intention to invite many old friends to the Party so come on down and let your hair down too. See you in May.
