Sailing day at Thamesmere Lake Saturday 17 th May 9.30 'til about 3pm

For a measly £3 a head you and your young people can experience a days sailing with the Thamesmead YMCA. Good old George Reynolds and his team will be on hand to give you a 'taster' of what it is like to get the wind in your hair and race across Thamesmead Lake . Please phone Bob on 020 8855 9496 to book your numbers. You will need to take a packed lunch and a change of clothes (just in case you get wet!) and of course the usual permission forms.

Disabilities and Young people

Helen Wheatley and a colleague from the Council for Disabled Children will be doing a days training on Saturday 17 th April 2004 challenging issues around disabilities and how we include all young people. This training is particularly relevant to those working with anyone with a disability but will make all of us think about how we address disability issues. If you are interested and there are any places left contact Mark Worf on 020 8855 4046.

Sailing Day at Thamesmead

There are still some places left to have a great days fun on the water (for a measley £3) on Saturday the 17 th of April. Give your young people the chance to 'taste' what it is like sailing the high seas, or even Thamesmere Lake . Contact Bob at the BCVYO office for booking details.

VOLUNTEERING

'The commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community; the environment; or individuals outside ones immediate family. It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain'.

And another quote

'Volunteering may not offer a salary but the benefits can be priceless'.
